BIO
Savea Kagan (dancer/choreographer/writer) studied under Degas Dance Studio as well as Los Angeles County High School For The Arts (LACHSA), and was recognized as a YoungArts Winner in Modern Dance, Music Center Spotlight Honorable Mention, and multiple award winner at the Youth America Grand Prix. She then traveled to The Netherlands to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Dance at Codarts Rotterdam University Of The Arts while dancing with Scapino Ballet Rotterdam under direction of Ed Wubbe 2023-2024. During this time, she attended programs such as Jacobs Pillow, Orsolina28, Nederlans Dans Theater X Project Amare, BODYTRAFFIC, B12 Research or Die, and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. In addition, Savea has had the honor of performing and learning works of Juliano Nunes, Paul Lightfoot and Sol Leon, Jiri Kylian, Micaela Taylor, Cayetano Soto, Ed Wubbe, Andonis Foniadakis, Jarek Cemerek, Hans Van Manen, Martha Graham, Merce Cunningham, Paul Taylor, Imre Van Opstal, and Roy Assaf among others in collaboration with Holland Dance Festival touring nationally and internationally. In 2024 Savea founded Decoupage Dance Collective. She is an avid creator and has choreographed full length productions, interdisciplinary works, short films, music videos, and site specific pieces upon various occasions during her studies.
